We started this journey by exploring the concept of digital sustainability and its impact on our environment, society and economy. We saw how technology can be a lever for positive change, but also how it needs to be managed consciously to avoid unwanted effects.
Moving on in our journey, in this second episode we focus on a fundamental distinction: digitisation and digital transformation are not the same thing. Understanding this difference is essential to navigate in a world where technology is rapidly evolving and affecting every aspect of our lives. How can we take advantage of digitalisation without being passively affected by its changes? What strategies can we adopt to govern this transformation in a sustainable way?
Fundamental Questions of This Episode
In this episode, helped by the story of Claudia, a doctor struggling with Artificial Intelligence, we try to answer these questions together:
-What is the role of digitisation? Is it only a technical process or does it have deeper implications?
-How does digital transformation really differ from simple digitisation? What are the key elements that characterise it?
-Why does digital transformation require a real change in meaning? What forces determine its impact?
-How can digitisation and digital transformation become an engine of sustainability and not just a technological acceleration?
In this episode, therefore, we analyse the link between technology, governance and sustainability. We ask questions, analyse concrete scenarios and try to understand together where this transformative process is taking us and how we can be protagonists rather than mere spectators.
